SpeakersGuests of Honor Rennes University is really active in the field of Crystallography and the YCM2 is the opportunity to introduce some local crystallographic specialties to the Young Crystallographers. That's why we have the pleasure to receive two guests of honor:
Éric Collet, Professor at the University of Rennes and the Institute of Physics of Rennes, CNRS Silver Medal 2020 and winner of the Alajos Kálmán Prize of the European Crystallographic Association (ECA) 2022 for his high impact studies of ultra-fast femto second experiments, ultra-fast photo excitations like photo induced structural dynamics, phase transitions and molecular switching. ©Univ-Rennes
Fabrice Pointillart, Researcher in molecular chemistry and materials at the Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences, CNRS Bronze Medal 2014 and leader of the ERC MULTIPROSMM, aiming to design multiple properties Single-Molecule Magnets (SMMs) and to investigate their resulting magnetic and optical properties as well as their correlation/synergy.

Invited Speakers:
Elena Bykova, Professor and junior research group leader at Institute of Geosciences, Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany, awarded the Max von Laue Prize by the German Crystallographic Society in 2018. She is developping single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments at extreme conditions in mineral physics and material sciences and discovered numerous new oxides, carbonates, silicates, borides, and carbides structures. © Elena Bykova
Victor Gonzalez, Researcher at Supramolecular and Macromolecular Photophysics and Photochemistry laboratory (Paris Saclay, France), specialized on the chemical study of ancient materials, in particular those making up historic paint layers, identifying markers of the manufacturing processes and reactivity of ancient pictorial materials using multi-scale analytical methods to probe paintings.
